Pwllgwilym Cottages and B&B
A family business, Pwllgwilym Cottages are run by husband and wife team Richard and Jane Davies. Set on a working farm, the cottages have been developed from the old farm barn to provide three stylish self catering cottages which retain the original character and charm such as oak beams, flagstone floors and exposed stone walls that are complimented by modern bathrooms, kitchens and stylish furniture. The three cottages will sleep between 4 and 7 guests, with the two larger cottages even having their own “hot tub” which will help to ease any aches you may have after your round of golf.
As well as the three self catering cottages Pwllgwilym can also offer, in the main farmhouse, three superb rooms for bed and breakfast. Talking about breakfast, if you are staying in the self catering cottages, well, you don’t have to cook your own, Richard and Jane will be very happy to serve you one of their renowned “big” breakfasts to set you up for a day on the golf course.
The location of the cottages is stunning, set in 60 acres of farmland they have wonderful views of the Wye Valley and the tranquillity is only disturbed by the occasional call of a buzzard or red kite. You might now be thinking that this a very remote rural location, but you would be wrong, the cottages are only 400 or so yards from the village of Cilmeri and best of all it’s only a few yards further to the Prince Llywellyn Inn. (many guests drive to the end of the farm road and park there, then it is only 100 yards to one of the best “watering holes” in the area).
Builth Wells Golf club is only a mile or two from Pwllgwilym, and the other two courses are within an easy 30 minute drive, but if you don’t want to drive to the courses then Richard is only too happy to take you, in his minibus, and pick you up after your golf and perhaps a few jars refreshment.
So if you are looking for a golf break in a relaxing location then look no further than a Heart of Wales Golf Break at Pwllgwilym Cottages.
Please note that the cottages are very busy on weekends so a midweek break will give you the best opportunity to experience what Pwllgwilym has to offer, and if you would like a day of relaxation then you can book one of Richard’s guided Overland Safaris.
